Amerikali: Bes Vakit Namazinda Musluman

I am the imam of a small community of muslims situated in Springdale, Washington. What I earn as a substitute teacher in six local schools districts provides far more for me and my community than The Prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi was-sallam ever enjoyed. My "poverty" does not debilitate me and I welcome a woman who knows her religion enough to understand the invaluable blessing of a life lived in the footsteps of Muhammad.

I am tired of pretense and falsehood. I am weary of posturing simply to impress a woman by fleeting appearances. I would rather my wife be beautiful of spirit and rich with generosity than painted and dressed as a display window mannequin.

Love of the ephemeral is destined to fail, while love of The Eternal yields eternal love.

What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
I lived from 1991-1996 in Turkey. The first two years were spent in Istanbul and the next two in Ankara. My final year was spent in the Western Anatolian countryside. I lived everywhere from Eskisehir to Tarsus to Isparta and then some ...

Though I'm not Turkish per se, I speak the language quite well. I miss the many Turkish friends I made and hope to meet new ones soon.
