Planning to move to Istanbul this summer to study Turkish. I have spent a month in Turkey and like it a lot. Looking to meet Turkish people in Texas.

Insights
When raising a family, how important is it that your kids learn to speak Turkish?
My kids will learn a second language early in their lives. I was never taught a second language and it is very hard to learn now that I am older.
Describe the perfect evening.
A Perfect Date - Meeting for a cup of chai or coffee followed by a walk to the park where we sit on a park bench and talk for too long. Aimlessly walk around the downtown and then find a place to kiss for a while.
Describe your perfect weekend.
Many places. I enjoy going for a hike, or a bike ride. I enjoy hanging around in Downtown Austin and meeting people.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not at first sight, but not long afterward.
How many kids would you like to have?
Two or three
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
Well that's a rather personal question.
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
Migrated from Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Lived in San Diego, California.
Sailed around the world.
Had two photos published.
I've met some wonderful people during my life time.
What do your friends like about you most?
Sense of humor, and good conversations. I'm told that I am punctual and kind. I sometimes don't think so, but enough people have said it that it could be true.
What do your friends tease you about the most?
That probably would have been easy to asnwer in the 5th grade. I don't know... my frisbee techniques?
What gets on your nerves?
Gaudy oversized people with gaudy oversized vehicles and attitudes.
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
laughter, empathy, a willingness to share and accept.
What's the best age to get married?
When ever it feels right.
What turns you off?
When activities are turned into functions (having a meal with friends and family as opposed to a fast food order). When people treat humanity as a commodity. Materialism.
What turns you on?
People who recognize the temporary and are interested in the eternal. When somone on the street smiles back at me.
A good game of frisbee, a good bike ride, being out at sea.
