Insights
When raising a family, how important is it that your kids learn to speak Turkish?
very important as one language is window for one culture and juxtaposing different cultures would be illuminating for fresh mindsets, I mean children
Describe the perfect evening.
in bed, on the sofa hugging; walking along the riverside under trees, or in Iceland getting soaked up under gushing warm springs !....
Describe your perfect weekend.
somewhere where there is not much traffic and plenty of open spaces
Do you believe in love at first sight?
has not happened yet,
How many kids would you like to have?
would love to have 2 boys and 2 girls, if my future wife permits
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
but.., is human life NOT tradegy? Whatever we change more need changing! Isn't it? Agree or not?!.. Well, anyway!..., I am Deli Dumrul now with magical powers!. Will take from the rich and give it to the poor. So, I probably do the followings; would like to stop excessive consumption by human creatures; also.., ban all inconsiderate and rude and dangerous Turkish divers for life, I mean for lifeeeif there are not domesticated(that's probably %95 of all drivers with a modest estimate); rebuilt motorways and roads in Turkey with proper signs and safety measures; I can go onnnnn; others things; sadly, Turkish town character is dying; would do anything to stop turning town and cities into ugly, soulless, concreate heaps; the Turkish cityscpae is suffacating everyone and I cannot bear it. No green, no parks; I would like every town and city with a lot of green and open spaces; and would like every town and city to be like Safranbolu or Beypazari. Or, with some parks like London. Even, Bodrum is terrible, no plan nothing whatsowever! It is cramped and sticky Bar after bar! noise and dirt. I also just remembered; the Turkish private TV channels, loathesome with their chatshows and mindless 'slot' filling progammes. I would make them pay all their reveunues as taxes for good causes; especially for education. How is that?!
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
plenty of good things should I say; my humble journey in this life begun in a Village by E5; brought up - by step mother and own father- on the slopes of snow-watered hills of Koroglu Mountains where worked as a shepherd;left village for boarding school, after Sanat Okulu worked on the production line in Istanbul, left that job, sailed around the world, (Drunk Gin and Tonic on the Ecuador line at the Atlantic Ocean), arrived UK as a drifter and a dreamer with false impressions; lost in London urban jungle; looked elsewhere for glories, so ended up in Newcastle upon Tyne, was homeless for a while, spent over ten years at a British Uni as a 'mature' student; did 2 degrees and Postgrads Dip and Masters.; taught Turkish and Interpreting; came back to London determined to succeed
What do your friends like about you most?
find it embarresing to answer; but, my '10' times trying!..
What do your friends tease you about the most?
Recently, I think, people are teasing me about my driving as I am trying to be an 'ultra' correct driver!
What gets on your nerves?
indifference, layziness; a few 'small' things!..; herendous driving habits in Turkey is the most annoying; queue jumping drives me mad, abolsutely mad; also some of private Turkish, TV channels
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
committment and devotion, honesty and sharing, loving unconditionally
What's the best age to get married?
anytime I suppose
What turns you off?
ignorance and indifference
What turns you on?
in terms of opposite sex, an elegant, intelligent and a well looked after female
What do you hope to be doing five years from now?
surrounded by 3 or 4 of 'our' children and still setting new goals; I have already one; a faboulus boy to be 4 years old (at 9.51 am in 18 Sept 2006)
