When raising a family, how important is it that your kids learn to speak Turkish?
It is important and now that they are older they see the value for themselves as well. The more we as individuals can communicate with one another, the better we can overcome issues, and bring everyone closer together.
Describe the perfect evening.
The location is not important. Spending time with a person who I can communicate with,verbally and non-verbally. Someone who comprehends the silences that exist between the words.
Describe your perfect weekend.
Anywhere fun and exciting, or sometimes no where at all. It depends on the partner or company that I am with, the amount of free time, and the destination.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not really, although I probably used to when I was younger. Now it will take more then the initial impression. Wisdom is gained from experience and mistakes are learning opportunities.
How many kids would you like to have?
I have three daughters, and I don't really want to have any more children. I am thoroughly enjoying the freedom of not having the daily responsibilities associated with child rearing. Looking forward to the joys of being a grandparent some day.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
I would eliminate poverty and injustice for humanity.
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
There is someone in this world for everyone, the key is in recognizing this person, and then not to lose them. Don't be fooled by the veneer; don't gloss over the imperfections,don't rationalize or minimize them, to the point of hurting yourself. Most important not to waste precious time on a person who can't be honest or monogamous.
What do your friends like about you most?
Spontaneous, open to everything, humorous.
What do your friends tease you about the most?
Nothing, my friends admire my tenacity and spontenaity.
What gets on your nerves?
People who are in a bad moods/anger issues, have mood swings, and malicious individuals. Hypocracy, selfishness and dishonesty!
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
Honesty and fidelity!!!!! Communication!!!
What's the best age to get married?
That depends on the individual circumstances. There are lots of factors to consider.
What turns you off?
Smokers,dishonesty,greed,selfishness, and phony/fake people.
What turns you on?
A sense of purpose and worthiness, close ties to my family and true friends. Intelligent people from diverse backgrounds with whom I can share quality experiences.
What do you hope to be doing five years from now?
I am looking forward to having a quality relationship with a man and spending the remainder of our days traveling, and/or living partially in Turkey and US or Canada.
